Band Of The Week: Harm's Way

If ever there was a band to encapsulate everything that the Hardcore genre should be, it's Harm's Way. Too often Hardcore gets turned into 'brocore'. The tone, the aggressive and heavy as hell writing and the dependence on great riffs instead of simply writing breakdown after breakdown makes these guys easily one of the best in the genre.

I didn't get into these guys until their last release Isolation, which is a fantastic LP all around, and I discovered them thanks to Corey Mitchell over at Metalsucks, on one his great but unfortunately not so frequent lists.

Harm's Way recently released a new EP entitled Blinded, and itmight be my favorite release from these guys overall. I want to give it a full review treatment when I get the time to, but for now I'll just let you know that they've improved on every aspect of their sound and boosted the atmospheric presence in their music making the album feel almost like a Hardcore Doom album. It's pretty killer.

Check out the music video for 'Mind Control':

Plus their singer is pretty freaking jacked. He really fits his part of the band.

Anyhow, these guys aren't super unknown, but the could still use some limelight as they really deserve it. Give them a like on Facebook and go buy Blinded!
